The Friends of the Library Foundation will once again host the Miss Sweet 16 contest. This year there will be two contests due to the pandemic of 2020. The Friends are offering the opportunity for the contestants who would have been 16 on or before September 26, 2020 to participate in a contest. They are also inviting contestants who will be 16 on or before September 25, 2021 to participate in a separate contest. If interested in participating in either contest, please read, fill out, and sign, and submit the Sweet 16 Biography Form found under the Friends’ tab on the library’s website. Forms and photo must be submitted by August 23, 2021. The public can vote for it’s favorite contestant at the library by casting penny votes. Example: $5.51 cents donated to the Friends of the Library Foundation in the contestant’s name will be 551 votes for the contestant. The contestant with the most votes will be crowned the new Miss Sweet 16. You can also vote for your favorite contestant with the donate tab on the website, be sure to include the name of the contestant you are voting for. Voting ends at 3:00 pm September 25, 2021. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony at Saturday evening of Wellsville Days (approx. 6:45).
